If your pet needs veterinary surgery, you may be in search of an orthopedic veterinarian near Omaha. We encourage you to learn more about Sirius Veterinary Orthopedic Center. The more you know, the more you will want your pet’s orthopedic needs taken care of by the Sirius Veterinary Team.
If you've ever seen a cat jump up on the back of a couch or a dog bound up a staircase, it’s hard to deny their athletic ability. It's why we view pets as athletes at Sirius Veterinary Orthopedic Center. We don't just want to return mobility; we consider it our job to do our best to return these pets to prime physical condition. Because our expectations are higher, our treatments tend to be more successful.
Dr. Chris Horstman, the owner and Chief of Staff for the Sirius Veterinary Orthopedic Center is a native Nebraskan. He discovered his love for animals when visiting family farms as a child. He quickly knew he was destined to become a veterinarian. After receiving a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Kansas State University he pursued advanced training in small animal surgery and became board certified in 2007. He spent nearly 10 years at the Las Vegas Veterinary Specialty Center as a staff surgeon. He helped expand the practice from a three-surgeon facility to a multi-specialty center with over 150 staff members. In 2014, he achieved an MBA through the University of Phoenix. Today, he is using his training, education, and experience to build an expert team of superior orthopedic professionals at the Sirius Veterinary Orthopedic Center.
Our name and logo leads many to believe we are a dog orthopedic surgeon only. Sirius, after all, is the “Dog Star”. That is simply not the case. While our name and logo are distinctive, we provide orthopedic services for cats and a variety of other four-legged small animals. We also work with Five Elements Veterinary Alternatives to provide a variety of rehabilitation services for small animals.
At SVOC, we provide an extensive array of surgical and orthopedic services.
These include:
Please keep in mind that small animal orthopedic surgery is a sub-specialty of veterinary medicine. This requires a referral from your family veterinarian. This means, if it has been determined that your pet needs orthopedic surgery or if you suspect he may be in need, have your veterinarian contact SVOC. At Sirius Vet, we use a team approach (you, your pet, your vet, and us) to provide the best possible care for your four-legged athlete.
