Amanda grew up in Gretna, Nebraska, and moved to Lincoln after graduating high school. She began working at the Nebraska Animal Medical Center as a veterinary technician assistant, while attending UNL for pre-vet.
During this time, she also started working with a non-profit group, Domesti-PUPS. This organization trains dogs for seizure response, balance/mobility work, and diabetic alert. It was with Domestic-Pups that she discovered her desire and need to train service pets. Amanda met Dr. Horstman when he treated one of the service dogs. She has always had a passion for surgery and has been with us since we opened in December. She has two labs, Angel and Finnegan, and a cat, Callie.
